The Governing Board meets once each month. Meetings are open to the public. The official agenda for board meetings is posted on both campuses at least 24 hours before each meeting. Study sessions, committee meetings, and work sessions are scheduled from time to time, although no action is taken at such meetings, the public is welcome to attend.
A limited number of agendas are available for visitors. The agenda provides information board members have studied prior to the meeting. Anyone who wants to be placed on the agenda should contact the Director at least one week prior to the regular monthly meeting. Visitors are requested to keep their remarks brief and concise. Visitors will note that there are several types of times on the agenda:

Information items require no board action.: Approval of minutes, approval of vouchers and current budget report. Usually the Consent Agenda is passed by one motion; however, a board member may take one or more items off the Consent Agenda to be discussed and voted upon separately.: We are pleased that you care about your school and want to learn firsthand of the decisions affecting your child’s education.
All business of public concern is conducted at public meetings in full view of the press and public. It may, however, become necessary to call an "Executive Session" (for the discussion of personnel matters, negotiations, land acquisitions, or other legal cause). Such meetings are, by law, closed to the public. When, after convening routine business meeting the Board moves into an executive session, all present who are not privy to the subject of the session will be asked to leave the room. They may return when the routine meeting resumes.
Only in student suspension/expulsion actions are votes taken in an executive session. All other votes are taken at a routine business meeting where all actions taken are recorded in the official minutes.
Each member of the Board and the administrative staff is interested in hearing your ideas and suggestions. It is essential to keep in focus that the primary function of this Board is to make decisions. Therefore, it is essential that important business time not be taken to respond to routine personal questions and criticisms.
If you have a question or concern about the operation of your school, the members of the Board encourage you to contact the individual closest to the situation – your child’s teacher or Director. It is important, they believe, that parents and educators work together directly to meet the needs and interests of your child.
