Director’s Corner

Thank you for entrusting the faculty and staff of Flagstaff Junior Academy with your greatest treasure…your children. We take great pride in the education and well-being of all of our students, and our staff of over 30 trained professionals works hard on a daily basis to ensure that each and every one of our students feels safe, is provided with the greatest opportunity to learn, and strives to reach their full potential.

We are a unique learning institution. Our school of approximately 290 students is recognized in the community for caring for the individual child, in addition to seeing to it that the whole classroom thrives. Our small class sizes are an asset to our learning environment, and our parental involvement is a testament to our community and family environment. As a public charter school, FJA has been serving students since 1997, and our team of teachers range from passionate veterans with a plethora of experience to new and dynamic teachers with boundless energy. This mix of enthusiasm and wisdom is evident in the classroom, and in the many hands-on and experiential activities that our educators bring to the students on a daily basis.

If you visit either of our two campuses, don’t be surprised to find students from various grade levels interacting on a group activity, or a class preparing to depart for a field trip to a local educational site, or a variety of other engaging learning activities. I encourage you, as a parent, to come and visit your child’s classroom and to communicate with the teacher to see if there is any way that you can share your expertise in the classroom. In addition, do not hesitate to reach out and contact me with any questions regarding your child’s educational process. Thank you.
